Guarding the Supply Chain: Preventing Fraud

Fraud is at an all-time high. Most logistics fraud is caused by carrier impersonation and credential theft. Protecting our carriers and our carriers’ business is a top priority.

Current Threats

These are some current fraud threats prevailing the industry:

  • Fraudulent Impersonation Tactics: Fraudsters are impersonating 3PLs/Brokers in order to trick carriers into hauling loads then leading carriers to seek compensation from the said 3PL/Broker for loads they did not broker.
  • Credential Theft Methods: Fraudsters are sending phishing emails with fake carrier sign-up links that mimic legitimate onboarding processes, stealing load board or Google credentials, and gaining access to carrier emails and sensitive information.
  • Industry-Wide Impact: Other major load boards and brokerages, such as truckstop.com and DAT, are also being targeted and have established fraud alert pages to inform and protect carriers.
